Atmel ATMega AVR Micro controllers

So the other night I was thinking about a small project and needed an avr micro controller. I went to reach for my mintronics mintduino to steal the micro controller out of it and then I vaguely remembered having a spare somewhere, and thus began the search. I know I have mentioned this before but its worth saying again organized storage is important unless you want to buy things over and over again that you already own. I didn’t just find one spare Atmel micro controller I found seven various AVR chips and three 8051 based chips. Two ATMega328’s, five various ATMega48’s plus the one ATMega328 in my mintronics mintduino. So the moral to the story, organize your stuff.

So the specs for the ATMEL ATMEGA328P are as follows. This is the micro controller used on the arduino uno and mintduino etc…

Atmel picoPower 8-bit AVR RISC-based microcontroller combines 32KB ISP flash memory with read-while-write capabilities, 1024B EEPROM, 2KB SRAM, 23 general purpose I/O lines, 32 general purpose working registers, three flexible timer/counters with compare modes, internal and external interrupts, serial programmable USART, a byte-oriented 2-wire serial interface, SPI serial port, a 6-channel 10-bit A/D converter (8-channels in TQFP and QFN/MLF packages), programmable watchdog timer with internal oscillator, and five software selectable power saving modes. Atmel 8-bit AVR RISC-based microcontroller combines 4KB ISP flash memory, 512-Byte SRAM, 256-Byte EEPROM, an 8-channel/10-bit A/D converter (TQFP and QFN/MLF), and debugWIRE for on-chip debugging. The device supports a throughput of 20 MIPS at 20MHz and operates between 2.7-5.5 volts.
